Your engagement photos should be a time to remember and for these two it definitely will be! We ran around all the unique neighborhoods downtown Kansas City has to offer, popped some champange, listened to a little Elton John and watched the sunset. I love that my engagement sessions have no expectations. I don't require anyone to fit into a pre-defined mold. You don't have to be a professional model or an Instagram Influencer to have good engagement photos. This time is meant for us to get to know each other and make some photo magic while we're at it.
Rachel, Zach, and I started on the west side of Kansas City on a bridge overlooking the city's skyline. Rachel dressed in a classicly chic little black dress and Zach in a nice tailored blazer and buttondown. Their outfits both complimented the location and elevated the look of their images. I love that their looks were inspired by Rachel and her vision for their session. She wanted a little bit of edgy, yet classy and elegent downtown vibe and I believe we completely nailed that look.
My recommendation to couples is always to choose 1 look or outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks, something that you wouldn't wear every day, something that excites you for your session!
There's nothing quite like sending a few sneak peeks via text and getting this kind of reply:
"Wow I can’t even 😍😍 you are so amazing!!! This just makes me even more excited for the wedding."
As a wedding photographer, THIS is the point of engagement photos. This response is why I offer your engagement session complimentary as part of your wedding package. Your engagement photo session makes you prepared, confident, comfortable, and that much more excited for your wedding day.
Cheers,
Jill
