For some, the idea of engagement photos can be nerve-wracking. Everything from panicked thoughts of "what do we wear", "what do we do with our hands", "do we bring props" "should I get my hair, make-up, nails done", "how do we choose a location" and so many thoughts in between. So how do you plan an engagement photo session with less stress? Choose a photographer who knows all those answers and more, like me! Check out Sam and Maegan's story below on how we planned their summer session to incorporate timeless nature garden vibes at Loose Park mixed with some steamy downtown vibes and views at the WW1 Monument.
I LOVE offering complimentary engagement sessions as part of my wedding packages, but only because I've put in the time and effort to make those sessions a total blast and not something you have to stress over. When Sam and Maegan were planning their session with me, they had the added pressure of planning from afar. We had to coincide our session date with their travel plans, pick 2 Kansas City iconic locations, plan backup locations in case of poor weather, nail our timing and outfits, and truly everything turned out magical. I mean just look at these stunning images, they speak for themselves!! We totally nailed both looks they were going for and got one heck of a bonus sunset as a kicker. And I'll let you in on a little seceret, nailing an engagement session vibe you and your fiance are inspired by is actually easy. Wait. What. How? Check out how it goes when planning with Jill below:
Planning your engagement photo session with me begins by receiving my curated couples session guide, chock full of juicy information on how to make your session flawless. From outfit recommendations to location suggestions, this guide has almost everything. Next, I suggest following me on Pinterest to see the board I've put together for you as well as more of my work! Then I encourage my couples to share their own mood or inspiration board so I can get a feel for what speaks to you and what you'd love to get out of our time together. Once we've swapped all the dreamy ideas I can recommend locations based on your mood board or you can choose somewhere in Kansas City that you've been dreaming of or possibly a location that means something to your relationship. After we've decided on a date and a vibe for your engagement session, I will then suggest our start time and give you a breakdown of our session, especially if we're planning on location hoping. All that's left for you to think about is if you want to include any extras! Like a fun heart-shaped pizza, some of your favorite local donuts, a bottle of champagne for popping, or favorite craft local beer. Maybe your four-legged best friend or a favorite vehicle, but all of these are merrily just the extra cherry on top of your already perfectly planned session. Your dreamy engagement photos are just around the corner! So what are you waiting for?? Let's plan your perfect engagement session today!
