A Honeymoon Session on Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Jamaica | A Signature Destination Photography Experience

Golden light, barefoot joy, and the beauty of slowing down.

There’s something about photographing love in a place where time feels softer.

Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Jamaica, is the kind of location that doesn’t just serve as a backdrop — it becomes part of the story. The water shifts from turquoise to deep blue, the sand glows under the late afternoon sun, and the breeze carries that quiet sense of freedom that only comes when you’re far from home.

This honeymoon destination photography session felt exactly that way: effortless, joyful, playful, and deeply connected.

Letting the Location Breathe

When I photograph in a new place — whether along the coast of Jamaica or anywhere else in the world — my approach stays rooted in the same philosophy: emotion first, environment second, perfection last.

We didn’t rush. We walked. We let the light change.

Bare feet in the sand. Wind catching her dress. The kind of laughter that happens when you’re still floating from wedding-day joy. These sessions aren’t about stiff posing or recreating Pinterest inspiration — they’re about capturing how it felt to be there.

And Seven Mile Beach gave us everything: open skies, luminous sunsets, and that golden Caribbean glow that makes skin look like it’s lit from within.

A Signature Destination Photography Experience

One of my favorite parts of photographing destination couples is what happens after the session ends.

While we’re still in that place — still feeling the warmth of the sun and the rhythm of the day — I intentionally edit a curated handful of images and share them in person.

There is something powerful about seeing your photographs for the first time while the experience is still unfolding. Bare feet still sandy. Hair still wind-touched. The ocean still within view.

It transforms the session into more than documentation — it becomes a shared moment. A pause to relive what we just created together.

For many couples, this small in-person reveal becomes one of their favorite memories from the trip. It’s intimate. It’s unhurried. And it allows you to fully step into the beauty of what your love looks like in that place.

It’s a detail I’ve thoughtfully woven into my destination work — because the experience matters just as much as the images themselves.

Why Honeymoon & Day-After Sessions Matter

There’s a different kind of intimacy that unfolds once the wedding day has passed.

The pressure is gone. The timeline is gone. The expectations are gone.

Whether it’s a honeymoon session in Jamaica, a sunrise walk along the Amalfi Coast, or a quiet morning in the mountains the day after your wedding, these sessions create space to simply be together.

They allow for:

– relaxed, unhurried portraits

– movement-driven imagery

– connection without an audience

Some couples book these sessions on their own as an anniversary or honeymoon experience. Others add them to their wedding coverage as a day-before or day-after session — especially for destination celebrations where the setting deserves more than a tight wedding timeline allows.

Photographing Love Anywhere in the World

What I love most about destination sessions is adapting to the light, the climate, and the rhythm of each place — while keeping your story at the center.

The way the Caribbean sun wraps around a couple at golden hour isn’t the same as the way it filters through Midwestern trees or reflects off downtown Kansas City architecture. But the heart of my work remains consistent: intentional direction, space for authenticity, and imagery that feels both artful and deeply personal.

No matter the location, the goal is the same — to create photographs that feel like memory and movement, not just documentation.

If you’re planning a destination wedding, a honeymoon abroad, or simply want to turn your travels into something tangible and lasting, I would love to photograph it. Honeymoon and day-before or day-after sessions can be booked separately or added to any wedding collection.

Let’s create something beautiful wherever your story takes you.
