Ryan and Lauren have such an incredible wedding story to tell. Between COVID canceling their original nuptials planned for the spring of 2020 in the beautiful rolling hills of wine country California and how their wedding day actually came about, this one is going down in the books as miraculous!
Somehow in just a little over three weeks' time, Lauren, Ryan, and their amazing support system pulled off the most beautiful backyard micro-wedding in Overland Park Kansas this past August. The venue was Lauren's parents' home decorated in the most adorable shabby chic decor imaginable. From vintage chairs to shiplap walls, the theme was executed expertly with lots of cool greens, blues, and whites. Looking back, this wedding could easily be featured in a Magnolia Homes Magazine!
When the day finally arrived, everything fell perfectly into place. I can't help but think how truly special these at-home wedding memories are and how they will only grow sweeter with time; Lauren's dad can forever look at the entryway to his home as the place he first saw his daughter as a bride. Lauren's mom can stand in her kitchen and hear the laughter and smiles of her closest friends and family who gathered to witness the event. Lauren and Ryan can look out at the backyard and remember the emotional and intimate vows they professed to one another at sunset that August day... I know COVID messed lots of things up for many people worldwide. But in some regards, it allowed us all to slow down and refocus our priorities. It allowed for moments like Ryan and Lauren's wedding day to happen in the most intimate and memorable fashion. Their love could not be canceled and I'm honored to have been able to help tell their story.
