The Hawthorne House is one of my favorite venues in Kansas City because it can be transformed to reflect any classic style for any season. This couple leaned into soft textures and pastel colors, feminine and simple florals, with minimal yet still engaging table arrangements and decor. This wedding is a great example of how effortlessly a wedding day can flow with only one photographer, me! I helped the couple create the perfect timeline that allowed for ample time for portraits, time for much-needed breaks in between events, and even provided time for the newlyweds to attend cocktail hour with all their favorite people.

Some key highlights from this perfect spring wedding day were two emotional first looks on the wraparound porch and romantic gazebo, beautiful wedding party portraits around the sprawling property, a classic and intimate ceremony in the chapel with an all parent prayer, cocktail hour on the Hawthorne House lawn complete with yard games, tons of socialization, and specitilty cocktails, a warm and inviting reception for guests with champagne tower pour, and a high energy dance floor with light up props! As their wedding photographer, my day was full of capturing contagious laughter, sweet stolen moments, and some amazing classic spring details.
